Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) has updated the pricing of the Stargazer, which is its challenger in the seven-seater MPV segment.
A Php 40,000 price increase was implemented across all three Hyundai Stargazer variants in the Philippines. The said price bump comes three months after the Stargazer’s official launch in the local market, which was in November 2022.
Of note, the Stargazer was initially offered with introductory prices, which makes the entry-level variant have a retail price of under Php 1 million pesos. The initial price range for the Hyundai Stargazer is from Php 998,000 up to Php 1,218,000.
2023 Hyundai Stargazer
Hyundai Philippines said that the Php 40,000 price increase for the Stargazer was implemented starting March 2023. That said, Hyundai’s MPV now starts at Php 1,038,000 for the GL variant. The mid-spec Stargazer GLS now comes with a sticker price of Php 1,168,000 while the top-of-the-line GLS Premium retails at Php 1,258,000.
All Hyundai Stargazer variants come with a 1.5-liter Smartstream gasoline engine that delivers 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque. The engine is then connected to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which is Hyundai’s version of the continuously variable transmission. Hyundai’s IVT is said to yield better power delivery as well as better fuel efficiency.
The base Stargazer GL variant is equipped with halogen headlights but it doesn’t come with fog lamps and daytime running lights, which are features available starting at the mid-spec GLS.
The top-spec Hyundai Stargazer comes with an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay
Inside, the entry-level GL trim has fabric seats and a standard radio. Leather seats, cruise control, and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto are available starting from the mid-spec GLS variant.
The Stargazer is Hyundai's challenger in the local seven-seater MPV segment
In terms of safety tech, the top-spec Hyundai Stargazer GLS Premium has the most for obvious reasons. It is integrated with an advanced driver assistance safety suite that includes the following: blind spot monitor, rear-cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, forward collision avoidance, and high beam assist, among others. To add, the six airbags option is only available for the top-of-the-line Stargazer.

Hyundai Stargazer Launch
The all-new Hyundai Stargazer was officially launched in the local market on October 19, 2022. Its global debut happened earlier back in August 2022, at the 29th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.
As of its local launch, the Stargazer has three variants available locally.
Hyundai Stargazer Exterior
The all-new Stargazer borrows several styling cues from the larger Staria. Depending on the trim, it comes with LED exterior lighting, electronic folding side mirrors, automatic light control, and a set of 16-inch wheels.
Hyundai Stargazer Interior
Inside the 2024 Stargazer are seats for seven occupants. Higher-spec trims come with leatherette seats, leather-wrapped steering wheels, a digital gauge cluster, a console box, and seat back pockets, among others.
All three trims come standard with a 60:40 split-folding second row, a 50:50 split-folding third row, and room lamp, and an overhead console.
Other driving features present on this Hyundai model include a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a push-to-start button, remote engine starting, and plenty of USB charging ports.
Technology & Safety Features
Present on both the top-spec GLS Premium and GLS is an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This headunit is then linked to a six-piece speaker system. A wireless charging pad is also available for the top-spec GLS Premium variant.

Hyundai Stargazer Platform
The Hyundai Stargazer utilizes the Hyundai-Kia K2 platform which it shares with the Creta 2024 crossover Philippines.
It then assumes a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. Handling suspension for this model is a MacPherson strut type for the front, and a torsion beam-type suspension for the rear. All trims then get a disc front brake, a drum rear brake, and a hand-operated parking brake.
Hyundai Stargazer Engine
Under the hood of all three locally available Stargazer variants is a 1.5-liter engine paired to Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission. Power is then fed to its front wheels.
With this configuration, it can make up to 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque.
Comparison
The Hyundai Stargazer is one of the better-equipped MPVs when it comes to driver-assist features. It also has a competent and relatively modern entertainment system with wireless connectivity and wireless charging capabilities. Most similarly sized MPVs available locally lack those two features.
