The vehicle can haul commuters with its 22+1 front-facing seating configuration.

Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai trucks and buses in the country, announced the granting of the Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the HD50S GT Modern PUV Class 4.

This makes HARI the first to receive a Class 4 certification from the agency. The HD50S GT Modern PUV Class 4 joins other certified Hyundai modern PUVs (public utility vehicles) including the HD50S Modern PUV Class 3.

The new addition to the modern PUV lineup comes with bigger headlamps and windows, providing an enhanced all-around view of the road to the commuters.

Inside, they will move around their areas in an airconditioned cabin with a 22+1 front-facing seating configuration and additional passenger seatbelts. The vehicle also boasts a 352-liter cargo compartment at the back, which is said to be “perfect for passengers taking inter-city routes.”

Meanwhile, drivers have to work their way around with a five-speed manual transmission. It is connected to a 2.9-liter Euro 4 compliant turbodiesel engine capable of generating 158 horsepower and 392 Nm of torque.

Like other modern PUVs, transport operators should be able to install the Hyundai HD50S GT Modern PUV Class 4 with a CCVT camera, a speed limit warning buzzer, an automated fare collection system, and a Wi-Fi module. Of note, the availability of the amenities will depend on the operator’s preferences.

Operators will benefit from the company’s after-sales support program that includes a three-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. It will help ensure the modern PUV will continue serving the Filipino motoring public without hassles or delays due to mechanical failures.

As of this writing, HARI has sold 800 modern PUV units to operators nationwide. Last year, the company delivered units to areas including Baguio City, Sorsogon, and Bicol.
