2024 GAC M8 luxury minivan to make PH debut in February

GAC Motor Philippines said last year that it would be debuting several new models in the market this 2024. The first among the six new models that GAC Motor PH will launch is the M8 luxury minivan, which will be officially introduced in the country in February.

Philkotse first saw the GAC M8 up close when GAC Motor invited us to China last September 2023. It was also during that trip that GAC Motor PH hinted at its intention to bring the M8 into the local market to rival the likes of the Toyota Alphard.

The GAC M8 is a seven-seater minivan that comes with an assertive exterior design that’s highlighted by a massive grille complemented by sweptback headlights, which are integrated with striking daytime running lights. GAC Motor said that the M8’s fascia intends to create an illusion of a lion that’s ready to pounce.

GAC Motor Philippines previously shared that it will be offering the M8 in two variants: the entry-level GL and the top-spec GX Master. In terms of pricing, GAC PH said that the GL comes with indicative pricing ranging from Php 3,000,000 to Php Php 3,100,000 while the top-spec GX Master has a price ranging from Php 4,000,000 to Php 4,100,000.  

The 2024 GAC M8 for the Philippine market will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 248 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

While the Philippine launch is still on February 15, 2024, GAC Motor PH has already started accepting reservations for the M8 luxury minivan.

GAC M6 Pro

Aside from the M8, the other GAC model that’s confirmed to be offered in the country is the M6 Pro MPV. No official launch date has been shared for this MPV yet but GAC Motor PH said that it is also planning to launch the M6 Pro early this year. Perhaps, the car brand could consider launching it during the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in April.
