It allows users to remotely control Ford vehicles through a smartphone.

The functionalities of a mobile phone have been innovated so much that some use it as a means of earning income, among other things. The guys at Ford Philippines are taking advantage of that innovation with the introduction of the FordPass.

FordPass in the Philippines

FordPass will be coming to compatible PH-spec Ford models

If you have been keeping up with the latest from the Blue Oval company, you might be aware of what FordPass is. But for those who are hearing this for the first time, FordPass is a mobile application that allows owners to remotely control and access their Ford vehicle using a smartphone.

Here is the list of features available through FordPass:

  • Remote Door Lock & Unlock
  • Remove Vehicle Start & Stop
  • Vehicle Locator
  • Vehicle Status
  • Access to Guides

Both the “Remote Door Lock & Unlock” and “Remote Vehicle Start & Stop” features can be used even when owners are far from their Ford vehicles. When the latter is remotely activated, the most recent air conditioning settings will be applied. It is a perfect function in a country like ours where temperatures can get high, especially during the summertime.

The “Vehicle Locator” allows users to find their vehicles when they forgot where they parked, while the “Vehicle Status” provides information such as fuel level and odometer reading. As for the “Access to Guides,” it directs owners to a team of Ford experts to answer any app-related questions.

FordPass will be available on all models of the next-gen Ford Ranger and Everest starting December 2. Soon, it can also be downloaded on smartphones (Android 7.0 and above, iOS 14.0 and above) for free from the App Store and Google Play Store. Once downloaded, owners have to simply select ‘Add Vehicle’ on the app, enter their Ford vehicle’s vehicle identification number (VIN), then click ‘Activate Vehicle.’
