After its success in Metro Manila and several regions in Luzon, the Ford Island Conquest finally makes its way to Mindanao. Specifically, the said event will be open to guests at SM City Davao from October 7 to 9, 2022.

Just like the prior iterations of the event, the one in Davao City will also last three days. During that time, customers will have the chance to experience the capabilities of the all-new Ford Ranger and Everest through exciting activities like an on-road test drive and viewing an on-site dynamic display.  

Of note, the all-new Ford Ranger and Everest bring a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel mill that can churn out up to 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. This is then paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Depending on the variant, both models may also come with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that makes 170 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. The lower-spec engine then gets a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Both top-spec variants of the Ranger and Everest are also kitted out with high-tech features. These include adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlamps, forward collision warning system, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and evasive steering assist, among others.  

Apart from getting the chance to drive and see the all-new Ranger and Everest in the metal, those who will place a vehicle reservation at the Ford Island Conquest in Davao also get the chance to win prizes. This is applicable to other Ford vehicles as well like the Territory, Mustang, and Explorer. 

Cash discounts of as much as Php 100,000 and other prizes also await those attending the event. Other incentives include cash discounts of Php 30,000, Php 10,000, and Php 20,000. These are joined by a 3-year Scheduled Service Plan plus Ford merchandise or a selection of accessories for the all-new Ranger and Everest.

Ford Ranger

The 2023 Ford Ranger is a 4x4 or 4x2 pickup truck. It is the latest version of the said model, and as of its launch in the Philippine market, it has a total of eight different variants.

These are the top-spec Wildtrak 4x4, Wildtrak 4x2, Sport 4x4, Sport 4x2, XLT 4x2, XLS 4x2 AT, XLS 4x2 MT, and the entry-level XL 4x4. As of 2023, prices for these trims ranges from php 1,213,000 to Php 1,910,000.

Under the hood of the new Ranger are two-different diesel mills. For the Wildtrak 4x4, it uses a 2.0-liter biturbo that can churn out 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It is also the sole trim that uses a 10-speed automatic tranny.

The rest of the all-new Ranger then gets a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that can produce up to 170 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. Only the XLS 4x2 and the XL 4x4 may come with a six-speed manual. The other non-biturbo trims then use a six-speed automatic.

Size-wise, the all-new 2023 Ranger is 5,370mm long, 1,918mm wide, and 1,884mm in height. They also offer a wheelbase length of 3,270mm, and a ground clearance of 235mm.

Locally, the 2023 Ford Ranger faces the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Strada, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, etc.
