Ford Philippines has completed six community activities in celebration of Global Caring Month. These ventures were participated by over 150 Ford and dealer employees and generated over 1,260 volunteer hours.
Ford Philippines celebrated the Global Caring Month
Much like last year’s celebration, Ford Philippines tapped the Gawad Kalinga (GK) Foundation to conduct farm produce packing and donation activities on September 8 and September 15. Over 800 families in GK villages in Metro Manila and Lambunao in Iloilo received baskets of fresh vegetables.
On September 15, over fifty employees participated in a tree-planting activity in Antipolo in partnership with the Philippine Business For Social Progress (PBSP). Another tree planting activity was conducted in Cebu where over 5,000 seedlings were planted in Buhisan Watershed Forest Reserve in Cebu.
The company conducted six communities activities
Both tree-planting projects were part of the Blue Oval company’s commitment to plant 20,000 trees this year. In total, this project will cover 12 hectares of reforestation sites in the Marikina Watershed in Rizal and the Buhisan Watershed in Cebu.
The last two community activities were back-to-back visits to the Anawin Lay Missions Foundation and Mother of Mercy of the Elderly & Abandoned. These allowed volunteers to donate basic needs and other supplies to the elderly beneficiaries in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce Of the Philippines Foundation (AMCHAM).
Ford continues its tree-planting initiatives
Ford Philippines did not mention the vehicles used for the activities. However, we can expect that the next-gen Ford Ranger helped move the goods with its bed like last year’s celebration.
“We thank all our Ford employee and dealer employee volunteers as well as NGO partners for dedicating their time and talent that led to the successful implementation of our community programs for this year’s Ford Global Caring Month in the Philippines,” shares Ford Philippines Director for Government and Corporate Affairs Josie Gonzalez.
“This is one of our biggest Global Caring Month celebrations to date and we are committed to continue our efforts to uplift and transform the lives of our beneficiaries and communities we serve with our programs centered around environment protection, health and nutrition, sustainable community development and education,” added Gonzales.
