Ford Island Conquest to showcase next-gen models in Cagayan de Oro

The three-day test drive event will be held at the Limketkai Center.

Ford Philippines is heading to Cagayan de Oro for its Ford Island Conquest (FIC) experiential test drive event. The event will take place at the Limketkai Center in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro from September 22 to 24, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The test drive event will feature next-gen Ford vehicles including the Territory Titanium, Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 and 4x2 variants, and Everest Titanium 4x4. Ford Philippines will also offer cash discounts worth as much as Php 100,000.

“The Ford Island Conquest heads to its second location this year, allowing us to bring our vehicles closer to more customers and give them the opportunity to see and test drive a Ford outside the showroom,” said Ford Philippines Managing Director Mike Breen.

Individuals who will place a reservation at the three-day event will be entitled to pick a prize consisting of Php 50,000, Php 30,000, Php 20,000, and Php 10,000 cash discounts. Other prizes are a next-gen vehicle accessory pack, director’s chairs, dash cameras, Php 3,000 worth of fuel vouchers, and premium bags.

Prospective buyers of the Ford Ranger will be up for a treat as the Blue Oval company celebrates its Truck Month this September. On top of the discounts and prizes, the Ranger will be offered with up to a Php 50,000 cash discount, an all-in low downpayment of Php 98,000, or a low monthly payment of Php 11,111.

“The FIC has always been a much-anticipated event for car fans and enthusiasts alike, so we are excited to make our first-ever stop in Cagayan de Oro and are looking forward to a great turnout and positive feedback from our customers in the City of Golden Friendship,” added Breen.

The next stops for the FIC will be in Cebu (October 6 to 8), Ayala Malls Solenad in Laguna (October 13 to 15), and SM Pampanga (October 27 to 29).

Ford Ranger

The 2023 Ford Ranger is a 4x4 or 4x2 pickup truck. It is the latest version of the said model, and as of its launch in the Philippine market, it has a total of eight different variants.

These are the top-spec Wildtrak 4x4, Wildtrak 4x2, Sport 4x4, Sport 4x2, XLT 4x2, XLS 4x2 AT, XLS 4x2 MT, and the entry-level XL 4x4. As of 2023, prices for these trims ranges from php 1,213,000 to Php 1,910,000.

Under the hood of the new Ranger are two-different diesel mills. For the Wildtrak 4x4, it uses a 2.0-liter biturbo that can churn out 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It is also the sole trim that uses a 10-speed automatic tranny.

The rest of the all-new Ranger then gets a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that can produce up to 170 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. Only the XLS 4x2 and the XL 4x4 may come with a six-speed manual. The other non-biturbo trims then use a six-speed automatic.

Size-wise, the all-new 2023 Ranger is 5,370mm long, 1,918mm wide, and 1,884mm in height. They also offer a wheelbase length of 3,270mm, and a ground clearance of 235mm.

Locally, the 2023 Ford Ranger faces the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Strada, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, etc.
