This shows the growing customer satisfaction with Changan.

Changan may be a relatively new name in the local market, but the Chinese marque has already been getting significant feats in its homeland. The latest accomplishment is topping the 2021 JD Power China New Vehicle Initial Quality Study (IQS), reflecting the growing customer satisfaction with the brand.

This recognition follows the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers’ (CAAM) January-February 2022 report that Changan International Corporation (CIC) ranked number one among China’s top 10 homegrown car brands in terms of passenger car sales. CIC accounts for 220,000 of the 1.6-million units sold in China within the said segment.

Moreover, CIC managed to rank number seven among mainstream joint venture global brands. This includes the luxury brands that are currently sold in China. With all that being said, the Chinese automaker noted that it is competing in 2022 with a ‘bold and spirited stance.’

“China brand vehicles are improving in reputation, quality, and eco-friendliness by leaps and bounds – around 10-percent every year,” said Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.

“And we are proud of having brought Changan into the country – a formidable contender that is already making waves, especially among young, upward-moving Filipinos with an appetite for affordable, value-laden lifestyle vehicles,” added Perez-Agudo.

Locally, CMPI is offering five models in the local market starting with the entry-level Alsvin and up to the CS95 7-seater midsize SUV. The Chinese marque has also made an electric vehicle (EV) up for grabs with the Changan Eado EV460 which is considered one of the most environmentally-friendly cars in China.

One of the efforts CMPI rolled out to show Filipinos the quality and reliability of its vehicles is the 100,000-km road test of the Changan CS35 Plus. The subcompact crossover managed to travel 820 km per day in the span of 122 days without running into serious issues.
