Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) is giving free toll fees on all exits along CALAX on select dates this month. A representative from CALAX shared with Philkotse that the free toll is part of MPTC’s program in showing its gratitude to motorists patronizing the said expressway. Toll fees on all exits along CALAX are free of charge on the following dates:

- May 19, 20, and 21 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

- May 26, 27, and 28 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

Motorists driving through the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) bound to Tagaytay can access CALAX by taking the Mamplasan Exit, which is after the Carmona SLEX exit. Motorists should then take the CALAX Sta. Rosa Interchage exit, and make a right turn going to Tagaytay.

CALAX also makes travel going to and from Nuvali faster through the Laguna Boulevard Interchange, and Laguna Technopark Interchange. The two interchanges also give motorists an alternative route to reach Laguna Technopark.

The Laguna Boulevard and Laguna Technopark interchanges are meant to decongest traffic along the Sta. Rosa Tagaytay Road, and other local services roads in the area.

CALAX is a 44.6-km road network that passes through the provinces of Cavite and Laguna. It aims to provide efficient transport for the eco-zones in Cavite and Laguna. CALAX also intends to reduce traffic congestion on Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway, and Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road.

Meanwhile, toll fees on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) have been increased. The toll fee in NLEX’s open system has been adjusted by Php 2, and Php 0.34 per kilometer in the closed system.
