As of July 2022, luxury British car brand Aston Martin will be using a new logo. Moving forward, this new logo will be used in upcoming models, and it represents the brand’s new global marketing campaign as well as its brand strategy.
The new Aston Martin logo
Aston Martin’s revamped logo involves an update to its wings, which is designed by Peter Saville. The new logo will be hand-crafted by Birmingham-based jewelry artisans, which will then be integrated into Aston Martin production cars. This is the first time that Aston Martin cars will be given such a treatment.
This is also the first major update for the marque’s logo since 2003. For the logo itself, it is only the eighth time it changed since Aston Martin’s establishment 109 years ago.
If you look closer, the new logo is sleeker-looking compared to the previous one that was rolled out in 2003. The lines representing the “feathers” of the wings are still there, but the curved lines connecting each wing and bisecting the entirety of the logo are gone.
The “Aston Martin” text is still displayed in the middle of the wings, and it looks like it remains unchanged. Then again, if we consider the bespoke nature of its manufacturing process, it will definitely look different from an actual physical logo on a model.
The production for these fancy wings is no joke
But while the changes to the logo are subtle, Aston Martin hopes that it can attract a new generation of clients or potential buyers. We’re pretty sure however that their “loyal customer base” already likes the new logo though.
This coming July 23, 2022, the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team will then feature the new logo on its livery at the French Grand Prix. It will also feature the original 1922 Aston Martin on their race car’s nose, and it also coincides with the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin’s involvement in the said racing series.
