Astara appoints Luis Torres Bruzón as CEO, Country Manager for PH

Astara has appointed Luis Torres Bruzón as the new CEO and Country Manager and CEO of its Philippine branch. As the new leader of Astara Philippines, Torres Bruzón will spearhead the company’s growth to become an influential brand within the region when it comes to sustainable mobility solutions.

Of note, Torres Bruzón is a veteran executive of Astara with 19 years of experience. Throughout his career, he has handled various roles, the first of which was the Commercial Manager at SsangYong Spain. He likewise held the post of Commercial Manager for Infinity Spain in 2011, and as General Manager of Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep Dodge, and Ram brands in Columbia in 2017. In 2020, he held the post of Managing Director of Hyundai Columbia. 

“Luis’s appointment marks a significant step forward in our strategic initiatives within the dynamic landscape in the Southeast Asia region,” said Chief Distribution Officer (CDO) of Astara Rafael Sainz. 

“I am excited about what the future holds, and we are confident that under his leadership, we will achieve new significant milestones in the region for Astara.” 

Apart from becoming the CEO and Country Manager of Astara PH, Torres Bruzón has also been elevated to the international company’s Global Committee, which reports directly to CDO Sainz. According to Astara, this decision is a part of its global strategy.  The current Astara PH Managing Director Raoul Picello meanwhile, will continue his role, reporting to Torres Bruzón. 

Astara is going big at the upcoming 2024 MIAS

For those not in the know, Astara PH is the official distributor of Peugeot, GAC, JMC, and JAC vehicles in the local market. 

At the upcoming 2024 Manila International Auto Show, JMC will be launching two new pickup trucks - the Grand Avenue and the Vigus. 

JAC meanwhile, will be rolling out an all-new lineup mostly consisting of crossovers and SUVs. Reports are likewise saying that the brand will be introducing two new pickup trucks as well. 

GAC, on the other hand, will be debuting the Emkoo Hybrid at the highly anticipated auto show.
