Volkswagen has recently disclosed a new concept dubbed the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR 2019. The German carmaker says that the new hatch’s production is planned to start later this year.
As other Golf GTI models, the TCR is also powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which is capable of cranking out 286 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The output is evaluated to be considerably higher than the standard version producing 217 hp and 370 Nm of torque and slightly lower than the GTI Clubsport pushing out 306 hp.
The engine works in a conjunction with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox, driven by 4Motion all-wheel drive or limited-slip differential. The top speed is claimed to be 264 km/h.
