Following its preview at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) last September, the all-new BR-V is set to arrive in local dealerships by next month at the latest.
HCPI premiered the new BR-V at the recent Philippine International Motor Show
This was according to information gathered by Philkotse from various Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) outlets. Four variants will reportedly be released in the local market, expanding from the current model’s two trim levels. For the first time in the Philippines, a 6-speed manual transmission option will likely be offered alongside the continuously variable transmission.
No other details were confirmed by dealerships at this time, not even the powertrain for the local release. In overseas markets, the second-generation BR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter DOHC VTEC inline-4 gasoline engine that delivers 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of pull to the front wheels.
As with the first-generation model, the new BR-V also features three seating rows for a total of seven occupants on board. Better headroom, legroom, and cargo space are expected due to its increased dimensions over its predecessor.
The new Honda BR-V is already sold in markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, and Africa
Apart from upgraded onboard tech in the form of a 7-inch advanced capacitive touchscreen display with voice commands, the new BR-V is expected to come with the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assist features. This includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist.
The all-new Honda BR-V will reportedly have its Philippine debut by the second or third week of November. As mentioned, it will be available in four trim levels similar to its release in Indonesia, while pricing information disclosed by our sources has yet to be officially confirmed by HCPI:
