It was in October 2021 when the Japanese automaker first rolled out the new Urvan in its homeland. Now, Filipinos who are looking for a reliable people hauler can find it in the Urvan, which sports subtle design updates and improved tech.
“The Urvan is one of Nissan Philippines’ best-selling models and we are excited to introduce this trusted and reliable people carrier with new technology and safety features,” said NPI President Juan Manuel Hoyos.
The sides and rear of the 2023 Nissan Urvan remain identical to the outgoing model. But the front gets a new and familiar look thanks to the refreshed V-Motion grille. It is complemented with a new bumper and trimming that aim for a more modern finish. To top the exterior changes, the van gets the brand’s new logo.

Moving into the interior, the biggest update is the use of a D-shaped steering wheel, which is used by many new Nissan models such as the Terra facelift released last year. Passengers can also feel safer with the addition of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features such as Hill Start Assist (HSA), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and High Beam Assist (HBA).
Powering the Nissan Urvan is a carried-over 2.5-liter YD25DDTi (turbodiesel) engine also found in the Navara and Terra. However, the one in the van is tuned differently, producing 127 horsepower and 356 Nm of torque. Depending on the variant, the engine can be connected to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.
