Four down, three to go.

When Dodge unveiled the all-electric Charger Daytona SRT Concept last month, the company introduced the Last Call. It is the brand’s final stint in producing internal combustion engine (ICE) cars before transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs). Seven models will complete the Last Call, with the Scat Pack Swinger editions as the third and fourth.

The end of Dodge's muscle car range is near

“The name says it all – the originals had a unique, fun character, and that’s the same reaction we’re hoping for with our 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger models,” said Dodge Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Kuniskis.

“Dodge Swinger models have always held a unique spot in the Dodge muscle-car pantheon, and these modern-day models bring that fun back to life,” added Kuniskis.

Dodge Charger

The Philippines Dodge Charger is a rear-wheel-drive, four-door muscle car. Its body style fits it into the full-size sedan category, but some consider it an American muscle car.

For the Philippine market, the Dodge Charger's sole available variant is the R/T Scatpack Widebody which is priced at Php 5,780,000.

Under the hood, the Charger gets two different engine options. For the R/T Scat Pack Widebody trim, it uses a 6.4-liter V8 engine that can make up to 485 horsepower and 644 Nm of torque. It then uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Size-wise, the Charger is 5,105mm long, 1,989mm wide, and 1,462mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,921mm.

Locally, the Charger competes against the likes of the Kia Stinger, Audi A6 Sedan. Lexus LS, Jaguar XE, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, etc.

Dodge Charger Launch

The Dodge Charger 2025, in its current form, was initially released in 2011. Currently, Dodge Philippines offers the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody and the Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody.

Dodge Charger Exterior

On the outside, the Charger is a mean-looking sedan that comes with design elements that harken back to the glory days of American muscle cars.

Equipment-wise, it comes with a power sunroof, an active exhaust with dual bright exhaust tips, LED daytime running lamps, a performance grille, and power-folding side mirrors, among others. The Scat Pack variant also gets special bits like a Black Charger decklid back, the Scat Pack Grille badge, etc.

Dodge Charger Interior

Inside, the Dodge Charger can seat up to five occupants. Keeping said occupants comfortable is a dual-zone climate control system and leather-wrapped seats.

The driver is also provided with a push-to-start button, a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, a power tilt and telescopic steering column, as well as plenty of soft-touch surfaces.

Also included in this model is a power adjustable driver’s seat, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and a power trunk lid release, among others.

Technology & Safety Features

To keep its occupants entertained, the Charger gets an 8.4-inch touchscreen display that’s linked to a 19-piece Harman Kardon GreenEdge speaker set. The said headunit also comes standard with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Safety-wise, the Charger gets a total of 6 airbags. It also has electronic stability control, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, hill-start assist, blind spot detection, electronic roll mitigation, traction control, a rear backup camera, a security alarm, tire pressure monitoring, etc.

Dodge Charger Chassis

The seventh-generation Charger is a full-size, rear-wheel-drive sedan. It uses the Chrysler LX, which it shares with the Chrysler 300.

For suspensions, the Charger uses a short and long-arm front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. It also gets Brembo 6-pot fixed front caliper brakes, and rear disc brakes. Like the Challenger, it also has a manual, foot-type parking brake.

Dodge Charger Engine

The Charger gets two engine options for the local market. The Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody variant gets a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 that can churn out 485 horsepower and 644 Nm of torque.

The said engine is then linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that comes with a paddle shifter manual mode.

The Philippine-spec Dodge Charger 2025 has nine different color options for the Philippine market. There’s F8 Green, Frostbite, Go Mango, Granite, IndiGo Blue, Octane Red, Pitch Black, TorRed, and White Knuckle.

The Dodge Charger is one of the most powerful sedans in the market today. Only a few others within the same category can match it, so if you’re looking for all-out straight-line acceleration, this is your pick. As for on-board features though, it sits in the middle of the pack. It does come with a premium interior, but its safety kit isn’t the most advanced.
