Indonesia might also get an RS Turbo variant.

Honda launched the next-generation HR-V for the first time in the ASEAN market last year. As most of you remember, Thailand got it first, and it is offered with a hybrid engine only.

Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has already confirmed that the 2022 HR-V will arrive in the market in April. But, it seems that the turbo-powered next-gen HR-V will be making a stop in Indonesia prior to booking a flight for its Philippine launch.

Reports suggest that the all-new HR-V will debut in Indonesia this month, with a possible March 23 launch date as hinted by the car brand’s YouTube channel. Although, Honda Indonesia has yet to confirm if the new car that it will launch by tomorrow is indeed the HR-V. But, it fits the timing especially when you consider previous reports about the all-new HR-V’s Indonesian debut.

According to a previous report from Autonetmagz, the all-new Honda HR-V will be arriving by the end of March 2022. This coincides with the 2022 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), which was pushed back to the aforementioned schedule.

Europe also received its own version of the HR-V

The said report on the Indonesian HR-V also indicated that like the upcoming Philippine-spec HR-V, the Indonesian-spec model is expected to also be getting a 1.5-liter VTEC naturally aspirated engine, as well as a 1.5-liter VTEC turbocharged engine.

Of note, the naturally aspirated version is the same L15ZF mill found on the current Honda City and City hatchback. The turbocharged version meanwhile, is the same engine currently in use on the all-new 2022 Civic

It is also said that four different trims might be introduced to Indonesia. This is in contrast to the Philippine market, which is only getting a base HR-V S, and the top-spec HR-V V Turbo. We aren’t sure how these will differ spec-wise, but it is highly likely that these will be mid-spec variants.

Lastly, Indonesia could also be getting an RS Turbo version. As its name indicates, it uses the 1.5-liter turbo engine, but we can presume that it is dressed-up to look sportier. Remember that the upcoming top-spec trim for the Philippine market is the “V” that will retail at Php 1.6 million.

The next-gen HR-V is going to be launched in the Philippines on April 19. Mark your calendars folks.

Both next-gen Honda HR-V trims that are coming to the Philippines are all kitted out with the latest version of the Honda Sensing safety suite. Likewise, all HR-V trims that will be released in Indonesia might follow suit.

For those unaware, the new Honda Sensing safety suite includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keep assist, among others.
