2018 Hyundai i20 facelift unveiled with many updates

Renderings of the facelifted 2018 Hyundai i20 have been revealed on Indian Auto’s Blog (IAB).
Through the renderings of Shoeb R Kalania - an IAB’s designer, it is clearly seen that the Hyundai i20 facelift features new set of 16-inch alloy wheels which are present in the pre-production test mules.

Apart from that, the front is highlighted by an all-new hexagonal grille along with horizontal chrome slats. The project headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED taillights also look bolder and sharper. Plus, the number plate is slightly moved up to the tailgate.

The 2018 Hyundai i20 is said to be introduced considerable changes in the interior. Accordingly, the new car will be adorned with refreshed fabric upholstery, trim materials in addition to a new multi-infotainment display and instrument dials.

As for safety features, all Hyundai i20 currently get dual airbags whereas the ABS is only available for Sportz model and side + curtain airbags is exclusive to Asta (O). Nevertheless, Hyundai is considering equipping ABS as standard in all models.

Under the bonnet, the 1.2L Kappa engine will continue driving the i20. This engine is married to a 5-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, diesel variant will be powered by a 1.4L turbo diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Moreover, the i20 Automatic (1.4 petrol + 4AT) engine is also being taken into consideration.
