Despite remaining the 2017 model year’s design and powertrain, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra still gets a series of new changes.
Though Hyundai is occupied preparing for the launch of its Hyundai KONA in the home country, the Korean carmaker doesn't forget to refresh itself with new American-spec 2018 Elantra.
A new SEL variant will replace the previous SE with Popular Equipment Package
In comparison with the 2017 Elantra introduced in Malaysia earlier this month, the updates of the Hyundai Elantra 2018 for sale are minor. The most noticeable one is that a new SEL variant will replace the previous SE with Popular Equipment Package.
Hyundai reveals that the 2018 Elantra SEL will be priced from $18,850 (₱ 934,166). It features a 7-inch display audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other outstanding equipment includes a 3.5-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster and rear camera. The Elantra SEL also receives updates furthering safe driving such as blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist.

For Sport version, it will start at $21,800 (₱ 1,080,361) and come with a standard power sunroof, blind spot detection, lane change assist along with rear cross-traffic alert.
Top-of-the-line model is the Elantra Limited with a starting price of $22,100 (₱ 1,095,229). This variant is equipped with new gloss black accents, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and HomeLink.

Apart from changes in each trim level, a new Machine Gray color option and three years of Blue Link service are also offered for all Elantra models.
As regards powertrain, Elantra’s customers can consider either a 2.0L four-cylinder with 147 hp and 178 Nm of torque and a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder delivering 201 hp and 264 Nm of peak torque.
