Last November, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018 was officially unveiled in the home country at 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. And now, it has landed on Southeast Asian market with Singapore being the first country to welcome this crossover.
Singapore is the first country in Southeast Asia to welcome the Eclipse
The local-spec Eclipse currently offered in only one variant is being on display at this year’s Singapore Motor Show. According to latest car news, an AWD model equipped with Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) is likely to be launched later on.
New Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018 - Interior Exterior and Drive
Underneath the crossover’s hood is a 4B40 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder MIVEC engine which is capable of producing 163 PS at 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm of torque from 1,800 to 4,500 rpm. Drive is transferred to the front wheels via an INVECS III CVT automatic gearbox with 8-speed sports mode.
The car is driven by a 4B40 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder MIVEC engine
When it comes to performance, the Japanese-made crossover is claimed to print from 0 to 100km/h in 9.3 seconds with a top speed of 200km/h. With a curb weight of 1,490 kg, the car is reported to consume a decent average fuel of 6.7L every 100 km.
In terms of safety features, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross comes loaded with:
- Active Stability Control;
- Seven airbags;
- Anti-lock brake system;
- Hill start assist;
- Around-view monitor;
- Forward collision mitigation system;
- Front and rear parking sensors;
- Automatic high beam function;
- Electronic parking brake with auto brake hold.
In Singapore, the Eclipse is currently offered in a sole 2WD variant
On the outside, the Eclipse is adorned with a set of 18-inch alloy wheels and LED head lamps and tail lamps. The inside is also fully offered with 4-way power-adjustable driver seat, heads-up display, leather seats, keyless operation, dual-zone climate control and 4.2-inch TFT LCD instrument display panel. While an optional panoramic sunroof if available for 2WD model, the 4WD variant comes exclusive with a Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) using touchpad controller.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018 price in Singapore is SG$133,999 (equivalent to approximately P5,109,000) for the base 2WD model. A SG$2,000 will be added for the optional panoramic sunroof.
