Toyota Motor Philippines has officially added the all-new Veloz to its model lineup. To this end, many of you who have families might be eyeing this seven-seater as your next, not-so-boring-looking family chariot.
The 2022 Toyota Veloz V
The Toyota Veloz however, has two different variants for the Philippine market. There’s the top-spec Veloz V, and then there’s the entry-level Veloz G. How are they different, and which one’s the right one for you? Let’s help you understand their differences with this short guide.
The 2022 Toyota Veloz G
Toyota Veloz Variants: Exterior
To kick off this guide, let’s start with their respective exteriors. But to put it simply, they are pretty much identical.
Up front, both the Veloz G and Veloz V come standard with a honeycomb pattern grille. Both trims also sport front air dams, as well as decorative bezels on their LED headlamps and front foglamps.

Furthermore, their LED headlamps both have integrated LED sequential side turn signal lights. Other exterior features common between the Veloz G and V include a pair of auto-folding side mirrors with welcome lamps, LED tailights, a rear spoiler, and roof rails.
Both trims also ride on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. And for an additional Php 15,000, both can also come in the Platinum White Pearl Mica color.

Toyota Veloz Variants: Interior
Just like the exterior, both the Veloz G and Veloz V pretty much look the same when it comes to their interiors.
The Veloz V has a larger head unit, hence the thinner bezels on the screen
Both can accommodate up to seven occupants, with 60:40 folding second rows, 50:50 tumble down third rows, and the Long Sofa Mode which folds all the seats down. The seats on both variants are also clad in a combination of fabric and leather.
For the driver, both the G and V trims offer a leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment, and a seven-inch digital gauge cluster.

Other comfort features offered on both the Veloz G and V include an automatic climate control system with rear vents, ambient lighting, as well as plenty of bottle and cup holders.
Toyota Veloz Variants: Tech and Safety
For entertainment, the Veloz V gets a nine-inch touchscreen, whereas the Veloz G gets an eight-inch touchscreen. Despite the size difference, both offer Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. These are then patched to a set of six speakers.
Moving on to safety, only the top-spec Veloz V gets the Toyota Safety Sense driver-assist suite. This means that it comes standard with a pre-collision system, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure alert.

Furthermore, only the Veloz V comes standard with a 360-degree view camera. The Veloz G, meanwhile, gets a reverse camera.
For standard safety equipment though, both variants of the Veloz are equipped with anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, an engine immobilizer, and a car alarm, as well as a reverse parking sensor.
Lastly, both the Veloz G and Veloz V come from the factory with six airbags. Specifically, these comprise dual-front, side, and curtain airbags.
Toyota Veloz Variants: Engine
Under the hood, both the Veloz G and Veloz V use a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine. At most, it can make 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. Both Veloz trims then use a continuously variable transmission with a sequential manual mode.
Both variants use the 1.5-liter 2NR-VE inline-4 gasoline engine
For suspensions, both Veloz variants use a MacPherson strut for the front and a torsion beam type for its rear. Braking for both is then handled by disc brakes on all four wheels, as well as an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function.

Toyota Veloz Variants: Conclusion
In conclusion, the main difference between the Veloz G and Veloz V is their safety kit. If you want a more comprehensive and more thorough set of safety features, you should go for the top-spec model. If that isn’t your priority, then go for the Veloz G.
As a whole though, the Veloz offers a lot of those who want a family-friendly ride that doesn’t compromise on looks. Then again, do give each variant a good ol’ test drive before settling on a final choice.

From the sides, one can see that it sits on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. Also, a chrome-colored trim piece spans the entire length of the vehicle.
