Introduced almost a decade ago in 2002, the Toyota Vios sedan was marketed alongside the Yaris hatchback which shares many of its characteristics. In the Americas, the Vios is known as the Yaris sedan and as the Belta in Japan.
The current generation of the Vios comes with a 1.3 liter inline-4 capable of 98 hp and 123 nm of torque and a 1.5 liter inline 4 which makes 106 hp and 140 nm of torque. Both are gasoline engines and both are very economical to run.
Inside, the Vios can fit up to five people who are then made comfortable by a lot of creature comforts. Equipment inside includes a touchscreen multimedia system, USB and AUX ports, Bluetooth connectivity, a CD player and some models even have an engine start/stop button and a heater.
Passengers are kept safe with ABS, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, side airbags, and driver and front passenger air-bags.
Competitors of the Vios with similar price tags for both used and new units are the Hyundai Accent, Mitsubishi Mirage G4, Nissan Almera, Suzuki Ciaz and the Mazda 2.
