Review of Toyota Vios
Exterior:
The front-end of the Toyota Vios resembles the current designs of the Camry and the Corolla Altis. The design has a wide slatted grille with angular fog lamp housing. The high-trim GR-S and G come with three-tier LEDs as well as an integrated LED daytime running lamps. Meanwhile, the rest of the lineup has a pair of halogen headlights with four bulbs.
Not much has changed for the side and the rear compared to the previous version. The GR-S variant is the one that stands out the most from the rest of the lineup with its exterior pieces, and rear spoiler in black, as well as a rear lower bumper integrated with a diffuser. Apart from those, it also comes with different-looking side skirts and 16-inch alloy wheels.
On the other hand, the G variant still keeps a piano black grille. However, instead of black-colored door handles like those on the GR-S, the G variant has chrome-plated ones.
Interior:
The Toyota Vios can accommodate up to five people including the driver. The top-spec GR-S and G variants have automatic air-conditioning. The dashboard is made of sturdy plastic for the most part with silver-colored accents.
The door cards of the car are made of plastic combined with a soft, fabric-covered material. A center elbow-rest is also equipped.
While most variants get the fabric seats, the GR-S comes with synthetic leather ones with red contrast stitching. The base has vinyl seats.
Both the GR-S and G variants have automatic air-conditioning systems while the rest use a manual air-conditioning system.
Safety:
In terms of safety, the E, G, and GR-S variants have dual-front airbags, curtain shield airbags, side airbags, and a knee airbag for the driver’s seat. The rest come with dual-front airbags and a knee airbag for the driver.
Other features include stability control, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, hill-start assist, and traction control. The G and GR-S variants have a rear-view camera. A clearance sonar is exclusive to the GR-S variant.
Technology Features:
The GR-S and G variants come with a 6.75-inch touchscreen head unit with support for USB, AUX, and Bluetooth. Meanwhile, the mid-tier E, XLE, and XE trim also have the same head unit but with a four-piece speaker set. The Vios Base and J are equipped with a 2-DIN audio unit with two speakers.
