The Kia Stinger GT Line 2018 officially unveiled its diesel-powered version

The new Kia Stinger GT Line 2018 comes added with not only a diesel engine but also great upgrades in both exterior and interior design.

According to the latest car news, after the first launch at the North America International Auto Show 2017 with turbocharged gasoline variants, the Kia Stinger GT Line 2018 is now available with a diesel engine. First disclosed for the European market, the Stinger can now be defined by a 2.2-L 4-cylinder diesel engine, together with the new GT Line model.

Speaking of the exterior design, contrary to the bright chrome of other models, the GT Line variants are adorned with dark chrome on the 'tiger-nose' surround of the grille, along with side mirror caps, side fender vents and front lower grill.

A glossy black rear diffuser together with 17-inch alloy wheels covered by 225/50 tires have finished the highlights of the diesel Kia Stinger 2018’s exterior. Now running with a 2.2-L turbo-diesel inline-4 with VGT, the Stinger is capable of cranking out at 319hp and 440 Nm of torque. Accompanied by an 8-speed automatic transmission, the diesel Stinger can whir from 0 – 100 km/h in a neck-snapping 7.7 seconds and top out at 225 kph. The model is offered with either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.

The Kia Stinger GT Line 2018 will offer either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive

In terms of the Kia Stinger GT Line 2018 interior, it has no change in Drive Mode Select, touchscreen entertainment system as well as dashboard. The GT Line seats are wrapped with standard black nappa leather which is only equipped for the top-spec GT. Moreover, the GT Line Stinger is available with two interior color options, red or gray, lining with black suede headlining.

Kia Stinger

The Kia Stinger 2023 is a midsize, five-door liftback that uses a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Its sole variant in the Philippine market is the Stinger GT 3.3 V6 AT and it starts at Php 3,235,000. 

Size-wise, the Stinger is 4,830mm long, 1,870mm wide, and 1,400mm in height. It also has a ground clearance of 130mm. 

Under the hood of the Kia Stinger is a 3.3-liter V6 gasoline engine that can make up to 365 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque. It is then paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox sending power to its rear wheels. 

Locally, the Kia Stinger competes against the Lexus IS, Mazda6, Jaguar XF, Chevrolet Camaro, BMW 3 series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, etc.
