One key development on the all-new version of the well-known Porsche crossover is its switch to full electric power. It slots in as the Stuttgart-based company’s first-ever electric crossover SUV. It is also the company’s second electric vehicle (EV) alongside the Porsche Taycan

So what can we expect from the all-electric 2024 Porsche Macan EV Let’s check out its specs and features to get to know it a little better.

Exterior

In terms of appearance, the all-new 2024 Macan retains much of the first-gen model's iconic roofline and general shape. Then again, it gets plenty of fine details which the brand says makes it sportier and more coupe-like.

On the front of the crossover SUV are a pair of new LED daytime running lamps that are mounted to more prominent front haunches. The LED headlamps, in turn, are repositioned lower on the front fascia.

The grille section in between the headlamps reflects the model’s new powertrain. Like most EVs, it is closed off, resulting in a more aerodynamic appearance. A lower air intake is found farther below, but the aforementioned part is smaller compared to the older internal combustion-powered Macan.

Over to the sides, one can see that this EV crossover gets short overhangs and a set of 22-inch wheels. It gets black-colored side skirts, as well as frameless doors for a slicker and sportier appearance.

Like the front, the rear gets pronounced wheel arches which further emphasizes the muscular appearance of the all-new Macan. On this part of the ride is a new LED taillight strip that spans the width of its tailgate. Positioned in the middle of this strip is a Porsche logo. Below the tailgate is a mostly black rear diffuser, which depending on the trim, gets silver accents.

Yet another key feature of the all-new 2024 Porsche Macan EV is its active aerodynamics system. This includes an adaptive rear spoiler, active cooling flaps on the front intakes, and flexible covers mounted to the crossover SUV’s underbody. These work together with lateral tear-off edges, the louvers on the rear diffuser, and air curtains below each of its headlamps.

As a whole, Porsche claims that the Macan EV’s aero bits result in a drag coefficient of just 0.25. That’s only a few decimals off the Tesla Model Y’s drag coefficient of 0.23.
