The 2024 Hyundai Sonata comes with a mid-cycle refresh for the current eight-generation iteration, adapting the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness design language. It also boasts tech upgrades that make the midsize sedan smarter and more modern.

Exterior

The new Sonata features almost a complete redesign instead of a facelift treatment. The design is guided by the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness, which aims to deliver a futuristic yet sporty appeal. New versions of the other Hyundai sedans such as the Accent and Elantra also get this makeover.

Highlighting the front end is the seamless horizontal daytime running light (DRL), which is complemented by the H-light at the rear. At the sides, the sharp geometric patterns add character to the sedan, along with the stretched hood and a sleek roofline. The more performance-oriented N Line variant gets exclusive 19-inch alloys, a rear spoiler, and dual twin-tip exhausts.

Interior

The refreshed Sonata’s interior meanwhile, gets several color options including Black, Greige, Camel, and Navy, allowing the Hyundai to cater to the different tastes of discerning buyers. In the Hyundai Sonata N Line variant, the cabin receives a unique color scheme of dark gray and red accents, exuding a sportier appeal.

The dashboard has a more straightforward configuration to house the brand’s first curved display. It also has a new 3-spoke steering wheel that departs from the usual design found in other Hyundai models. Behind the wheel is a column-type shift-by-wire controller.

Tech & Safety

As mentioned earlier, the new Sonata is now equipped with the Hyundai’s first curved display, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. It is matched with a heads-up display (HUD), providing a modern appeal in the driving experience.
