A feat 34 years in the making.

As of March 2022, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially sold more than 2 million units. This counts all of the vehicles that the company sold since it started out way back in 1988. This achievement further cements TMP as one of the largest players in the automotive industry in the ASEAN region.

Of note, this achievement comes on top of the fact that for 2021, TMP has attained the Triple Crown achievement for the 20th year in a row. For those unaware, a Triple Crown means having taken the lead in sales for commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and overall sales.

TMP was also the best-selling brand for 2021. Specifically, it managed to sell a total of 129,000 units for that year.

With regards to the 2-million-unit milestone, TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto mentioned that it would not be possible if not for the loyal Toyota and Lexus customers. He also acknowledged the commitment of the local Toyota dealership network, as well as the hard work and sense of ownership of every single TMP team member.

TMP Chairman Alfred Ty also expressed his gratitude to the past and current Toyota owners in the Philippines. He further put emphasis on the fact that generations of Toyota customers who put their trust in the brand, enabled TMP to continue to innovate and improve.

TMP was established through a close-knit partnership between Toyota Motor Corporation, GT Capital Holdings, and Mitsui & Co., LTD. This was spearheaded by Dr. George SK Ty, who also founded the Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company.

The said brand is based in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and it currently has a total of 73 dealerships around the country. It then sells a total of 23 different models ranging from subcompacts, compact crossovers, pickup trucks, vans, MPVs, midsize SUVs, among others.
