It’s that time of the year once again: free toll.

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is implementing a toll holiday on all its expressways this Christmas, and New Year.

This means that SMC is offering free toll fees at the Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR toll), and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).

The waiving of toll fees on the said expressways has become an annual tradition of SMC. This gives motorists free access to SMC’s toll roads during the holiday season. For this year, the company announced that toll fees will be free on December 24, 10 p.m. up to December 25, 6 a.m. SMC will also implement a toll holiday on December 31, 10 p.m. to January 1, 2022, 6 a.m.

Heads up. Free toll on SMC Tollways

SMC president Ramon S. Ang said that the toll holiday will help individuals who plan to travel and spend time with family, and friends this Christmas season.

This could be the perfect time for motorists who are planning to visit their loved ones outside Metro Manila as the southbound segment of the Skyway Extension project is now officially open.

The said segment has two lanes that run from the Skyway Main Toll Plaza to Soldier’s Hills in Muntinlupa. It has a total distance of four kilometers. Currently, the Skyway O&M Corp. is implementing an 80 km/h speed limit on the southbound segment.

Motorists driving along the Skyway (southbound) who are going to Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon should keep right or use the right-most pass-thru toll plaza to be able to use the newly opened Skyway Extension southbound segment.
