These new on-ramps will provide better access to the Skyway.

On October 1, 2021, the San Miguel Corporation Tollways (SMC Tollways) will be expanding the Skyway Stage 3’s capacity to cater to more road users by opening three new on-ramps on the said thoroughfare.

Specifically, the on-ramps that will be opening are the Gregorio Araneta Northbound on-ramp and the A. Bonifacio Southbound on-ramp, both of which are located in Quezon City. The third one is the Nagtahan northbound on-ramp situated in the city of Manila.

According to Autoindustriya, the Gregoria Araneta Northbound on-ramp is particularly crucial as it will allow motorists coming from the Quezon Avenue area to bypass EDSA if their destination is the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

This is expected to lessen the traffic congestion on EDSA. Moreover, we can also be certain that it can possibly help shorten travel times for those heading north.

Furthermore, the same source says that travelers coming from the Nagtahan bridge can also use the Nagtahan Northbound on-ramp to enter the Skyway Stage 3. To this end, they won’t have to use the Zobel on-ramp in Makati City.

In turn, the A. Bonifacio Southbound on-ramp will also serve as an access point for those wanting to enter the Skyway but missed the Balintawak on-ramp. Again, this is a time-saver, and it will provide added convenience for more travelers.

The management of Skyway Stage 3 reiterates that it can be accessed by motorists whose vehicles are equipped with an Autosweep RFID sticker. For those who do not have that yet, they can get the stickers at the RFID installation booths located on several on-ramp toll booths. And of course, one should also make sure that his/her Autosweep has sufficient load to prevent further delays.
