Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has once again closed select roads in Quezon City for repair works this month.

According to the government agency’s post on its official Facebook page, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is conducting rotomilling and asphalt overlaying in Quezon City. In turn, the repair works are causing temporary traffic jams in the area to complete the task at hand.

As such, the MMDA is advising motorists to take alternate routes.

For your reference, you can check out the list below to see the closed roads for repairs:

  1. C5 E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. Northbound fronting Eastwood Police Station 12 to corner Mercury Ave. Repairs are running until 5:00 a.m. of May 22.
  2. C5 E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. Southbound fronting Hotel 878 to fronting Vignet Center/SSS. Repairs are running until 5:00 a.m. of May 22.
  3. Maginhawa St., Malingap St. to Matiwasay St. (First to fourth lane). Repairs will start on May 19 from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. of May 26.
  4. Ortigas Granada Road between Santolan Road and Valencia Creek. Repairs will start on May 19 from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. of May 26.

The said activities follow the repair works the agency finished in Quezon City earlier this month. This includes the undertaking of rotomilling and asphalt overlays on roads such as Balete Dr., C5 E. Rod. Jr. Ave., Arayat St., Malabito St., and Boni Serrano.

Another completed project in the same city is the implementation of the exclusive motorcycle lane along Commonwealth Ave. The agency installed appropriate traffic signs and applied proper lane markings, providing safety for all road users including two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

Quezon City is also one of the cities that is part of the Single Ticketing System (STS) pilot run. In the agency’s previous report, the new system is looking promising as it didn’t see major issues.
