The rainy season brings floods that can cause damage in various areas in the country. NLEX Corporation is taking every safety measure to make sure that its roads stay flood-free, that’s why it's taking advantage of the summer months to start road raising works at SCTEX Dinalupihan in Bataan.
NLEX Corporation is elevating SCTEX Dinalupihan
A 640-meter stretch of SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) in Dinalupihan will be raised to enhance both safety and accessibility, especially during the upcoming rainy season. Works such as the construction and new pavement on top of the existing one, as well as the addition of new drainage structures are part of the project.
NLEX Corporation has cleared the area and removed guardrails to commence the road raising works. It will also temporarily close lanes to ensure that the construction will be carried out smoothly. Motorists are advised to expect a degree of inconvenience when traversing the affected portion.
As such, the toll road company assured that it is conducting road traffic management around the road raising works. Installation of road signs and warning devices has been integrated to guide motorists. This way, motorists can get to their destinations with minimal travel delays, as well as traverse the road safely.
The road works aree being undertaken to keep the expressway flood-free
The road-raising project at SCTEX Dinalupihan is expected to be completed early in the third quarter of this year.
“We continue to improve our infrastructure assets to boost their serviceability and enable them to be resilient so they withstand future climate risks,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.
NLEX Corporation is also busy improving the safety of its other roads including the upgrade works on the northbound portion of NLEX Candaba Viaduct and repair works for the San Matias and Pasig-Potrero bridges in Pampanga. The NLEX Candaba Viaduct NB project consists of the replacement of 13 priority link slabs, while the Pampanga bridges are being repaired to enhance safety.
