As per Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima, the Blue Switch initiative will allow the brand to link up with entities such as First Gen to provide the Philippines with environmentally friendly mobility. In the long run, this could also lead to a safer and more inclusive world for everyone.

First Gen has acquired a Nissan LEAF unit as a result of the partnership. This in turn will aid the said energy firm in strengthening its GreenWheels Project. Under the said project, First Gen has already established a fast EV charging station at the First Gen Energy Complex located in Batangas City. The LEAF will serve as this station’s test vehicle.

Of note, this charging station is able to handle multiple EV units at the same time. Furthermore, it provides rapid charging, filling a battery’s charge by as much as 80 percent in just 4 minutes. The best part of this is that the said charging station is powered by clean and renewable solar energy.
