Experts from both the Lego Group and McLaren Racing have worked closely together to create a detailed model replica of the F1 car with functional parts. According to the company’s website, the new Technic model will be available on March 1, 2022 globally with a price of USD 179.99 (or around Php 9,200).

“The partnership between the Lego Group and McLaren continuously develops each time we get together for the next collaboration. The way in which we are able to inspire our fans through the technology and designs produced pushes the limits of possibility, both on the racetrack and whilst building with Lego bricks,” said Lego Technic Head of Product Neils Henrik.

With a measurement of about 648 x 267 x 127 mm, the McLaren Formula 1 Race Car Lego is designed with an interpretation of the new 2022 car design, while using the iconic papaya livery featured in the 2021 season. The most obvious 2022 F1 car detail in the model is the new wheel design and larger tire size as part of the motorsport’s new regulations.

The F1 Technic model features a V6 cylinder engine with moving pistons, a functional steering wheel, operating suspension, and a differential lock. Moreover, the components have gone the harshest stress test so builders can have the opportunity to become immersed in their passion.

“We are excited to unveil the unique Lego Technic model of our McLaren F1 car, a fun and engaging product that celebrates our 2021 season livery while giving fans a hands-on interpretation of the new 2022 F1 car design,” said McLaren Racing Technical Director James Key.
