Bowers & Wilkins has renewed its partnership with McLaren. This continues the two’s long-running cooperation which brought about products like the Px8 McLaren Edition headphones.

Through the renewed relationship, the audio company will be providing a new audio set for the lightweight high-performance McLaren 750S. Specifically, Bowers & Wilkins will supply the car with 100mm Continuum midrange speakers which are then positioned on both the McLaren supercar’s doors.
The main speakers are then supported by five 25mm double dome aluminum tweeters positioned on the car’s dash and A-Pillars. The set likewise gets a bass driver and three 80mm midrange speakers.
This audio system for the British-made ride numbers 12 in total. It promises to provide detailed sound while being able to keep away unwanted resonances. Its tweeter set can also reflect sound waves to provide cleaner, more natural-sounding high frequencies, while the midrange pieces are designed to absorb vibrations.
The 2023 McLaren 750S
According to McLaren Automotive Global Marketing Director Andrea Bermudez, this new audio system from Bowers & Wilkins was chosen with great care. This ensures optimum enjoyment for its occupants through “unparalleled sound quality, adding an additional layer of enjoyment to the Mclaren experience.”
Note that this follows the announcement of Bowers & Wilkins’ collaboration with Aston Martin. Similar to its relationship with McLaren, the audio specialist also supplies a premium sound system for the DB12.
For those curious, the McLaren 750S is the successor to the 720S. It uses a twin-turbo V8 engine that’s capable of producing up to 740 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to its rear wheels via a seven-speed seamless-shift gearbox. Thanks to its beefy engine, the McLaren-made model can achieve a zero to 100 km/h time of just 2.8 seconds.

Other notable features present on this fast ride include a suede interior, bucket seats, an F1-inspired brake caliper system, a 360-degree-view camera system, etc.
For that kind of performance, those features, and for the premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system, one has to fork out a whopping $320,000. That’s Php 17 million at current exchange rates.
