Mazda 6 2017 receives mid-year updates

Taking a glimpse at the 2017.5 Mazda 6, you will not see anything different. However, let’s move inside, some equipment enhancements somehow cover the cabin, showing a great fondness Mazda wants to give to its sedan in the mid-circle update.

While the base 2017.5 Mazda 6 Sport gets updates on safety side with additional Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Monitoring, the mid-spec Touring is adorned with heated front leather seats as well as satellite navigation system. In particular, Mazda’s Touring Premium Package will be also optioned, coming with full 8-way leather seats in place of leatherette ones with only 6-way adjustability as the outgoing model.

In the meantime, the top-of-the-line Grand Touring is now fitted with a power passenger seats, a head-up display, lane keep assist, and radar cruise control together with smart brake support. Opting for the GT Premium Package comprising a heated steering wheel, Nappa leather seats, heated rear seats and especially, an i-ELOOP regenerative braking system will set you back an extra $2,500 (P127,075).

Concerning the hardware, the 2017.5 Mazda 6 is propelled by a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine giving 184 hp and 250 Nm. Power is fed to the wheels via either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox (in the lower-end Sport and Touring variants). Meanwhile, according to car news, the Japanese marque coddles the high-end Grand Touring with an exclusive 6-speed automatic transmission option.
