LTO reopens several branches in Metro Manila 

A few days ago, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced that it closed down its Quezon City central office until January 14, 2022. This is due to the fact that a number of its client-facing staff has become infected with the dreaded COVID-19 virus.

More recently, other LTO offices in other locations in Metro Manila have resumed operations, according to a post on the agency’s official Facebook page. For NCR-East, this includes LTO offices in La Loma, Marikina, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Pateros, Quezon city, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela.  

A number of LTO driver’s license renewal offices (DLROs) spread across the NCR-East area have also opened. See the list below: 

Meanwhile in NCR-West, the list of open LTO offices includes the NRU Regional Office, NRU Muntinlupa, NRU Las Pinas, the Manila West District Office, DLRO Metropoint, DLRO Robinsons Las Pinas, DLRO Araneta Square Mall, and DLRO The Link. 

In a previous report on the LTO Central Office’s temporary closure, infected employees have already been subjected to testing. And do remember also that vehicles with a plate number ending in “1” have had their registration validity extended until February 28, 2022.

On top of that, the validity of LTO licenses that are set to expire from January to March 2022 have also been given a two-month extension. This includes student permits, driver’s licenses, and conductor’s licenses. The validity of Medical Certificates, a requirement for the LTO-issued driver’s license, has also been extended. 

If you really have the need to visit any of the open LTO branches mentioned above however, it is highly advised that health and safety protocols be strictly followed.
