It seems that Hyundai Motor Philippines is set to expand its model lineup soon as it appears that it will be launching new vehicles. One of which could be the Stargazer X, which recently debuted at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Another vehicle that could be making its arrival in the Philippine market is the Custo, a seven-seater minivan that takes aim at the likes of the Toyota Innova.

Hyundai Philippines has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter. However, judging from the teaser image that was sent over the weekend, the car brand could indeed be prepping to introduce the Stargazer X and the Custo by October.
Hyundai PH seems to be prepping to expand its model lineup
The teaser image suggests that one of the vehicles is the Stargazer X. Among the clues that point to the direction that it could indeed be the Stargazer X is its overall silhouette as well as the wheel design. Speaking of which, the wheel design shown in the teaser image is closely comparable with what we saw with the Stargazer X at the 2023 GIIAS.
The Stargazer X comes with a more rugged exterior styling. It features a new grille design while the front bumper has a beefier finish compared to the regular Stargazer. It also has black cladding on the wheel arches and side skirts and comes standard with roof rails.

The interior layout remains the same but the housing of the infotainment touchscreen and gauge cluster now comes in gloss black as compared to the flat silver finish seen on the current Stargazer offered in the Philippines. The Stargazer X is also integrated with a Bose speaker system, and it still comes with the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission.
The other mystery vehicle that Hyundai PH could be introducing next month is the Custo–judging from the silhouette and the wheel design seen in the teaser image.
Hyundai Custo
The Hyundai Custo, which is offered in China and Taiwan, is a seven-seater minivan that sits above the Stargazer when you consider its size. The Custo’s size can go head-to-head with the likes of the Toyota Innova. In fact, the Hyundai Custo is longer by 215mm and wider by 20mm compared to the Innova. The Custo also comes with a wheelbase measuring 3,055mm, which is 240mm more compared to the Geely Okavango.

It comes with a 2+2+3 seat configuration and comes with a large vertical monitor in the center of the dashboard. The cabin has a modern-looking appeal that’s complemented by a clean, straightforward layout. It also has sliding doors.
In China, the Custo is available with two gasoline engines: a 1.5-liter turbo that puts out 170 hp and 253 Nm of torque, and a 2.0-liter turbo with 236 hp and 353 Nm. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
