One can say that minivans have become stylish over the years, shying away from the traditional people hauler design. GAC Motor Philippines is demonstrating that notion with the introduction of the Master’s Edition to its entry to the luxury minivan segment, the GN8.
2022 GAC GN8 Master's Edition
The 2022 GAC GN8 Master’s Edition comes with a new set of body kits to make the model more muscular-looking and elegant. This design might be a familiar sight to some as it was first seen last year when the minivan received a refresh in China.
Upfront, the Master’s Edition is designed with a new and massive grille with a vertical finish. In comparison to the previous grille design, the new one now runs all the way down to the lower bumper, highlight its large proportions. Other changes at the front include a new set of fog lights and a silver skid plate beneath.
Featuring a massive cheese-grater grille
Moving to the side profile, it is the same as before except for the addition of side skirts in black and silver finish. This complements the intended design appeal of the refreshed model. And at the rear, the Master’s Edition comes with a large bumper with a new exhaust pipe finish, new LED brake lights, and a silver skid plate.
As for the interior, the GAC GN8 Master’s Edition still offers an elegant 7-seater cabin with its second-row Ottoman seats featuring heated and ventilated functions. Infotainment is provided by its 10.1-inch touchscreen that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also paired to an 8-speaker Harman and Kardon audio system.
It got more muscular than ever
No changes have been made under the hood. This means that the new Master’s Edition still uses the same Euro 5-compliant 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that is capable of generating 199 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard.
