This was announced through a post on the Make It Makati Facebook page, where news and information about the city is shared on a regular basis. Currently, buses serving the EDSA Carousel route are stationed in front of the Telus House Mckinley Exchange business center. The transfer was reportedly made possible by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in partnership with Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI).

According to the post, the new One Ayala serves as an intermodal transport hub along the country’s busiest thoroughfare. It features a direct connection to the MRT-Ayala Station, allowing commuters to reach their respective modes of transport with covered and elevated walkways for convenience. The terminal can be accessed through Ayala Avenue, located directly beside SM Makati and a few steps away from MRT-3 Ayala.

Named after its address at the No. 1 Ayala Avenue corner EDSA, One Ayala spans 309,000 square meters. The transit-oriented development has three levels for serving southbound buses, AUVs, and modern jeepneys once it commences full operations. Based on its architectural design, the facility will also have a designated space for bicycle racks to be installed.

Ayala Malls previously relocated the city’s point-to-point bus stations to One Ayala. The terminal’s present location was once occupied by the five-star Intercontinental Manila hotel, which served as one of Makati’s important landmarks for 46 years until it ceased operations in December 2015. It has since been demolished.

News of the EDSA Carousel Ayala Station southbound terminal comes as the DOTr announced that commuters can avail of free rides on the busway for 24 hours, seven days a week throughout the month of December.
