Big surprises have been unveiled at the moment the Chevrolet Silverado 2019 made its debut. The most marked point might be that the RST and LT trims will take a new 2.7L turbocharched 4-cylinder instead of a usual 6 or 8-cylinder engine.
The new 4-cylinder powertrain is in charge of up to 310 HP and 472 Nm which outpace the power from the 4.3L V6 doling out 285 HP and 414 Nm on the Custom Trail Boss, Custom, Work Truck trims. Plus, the RST and LT trims also come with an 8-speed automatic. Awesome!
Speaking of the V8, the auto brand provides two options. While the 5.3L on the top-of-the-range High Country, LTZ, and LT Trail Boss produces 355 HP and 519 Nm with the choice of a 6-or-8-speed automatic, the top-end 6.2L V8 on the High Country and LTZ churns out 420 HP and 624 Nm with a 10-speed automatic.

The V8 Silverado is due to go into production in the third quarter
It is said that Chevrolet will, soon in 2019, add up to the lineup with a 3L-inline-6 turbodiesel equipped with a ten-speed automatic.
As unraveled earlier at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Chevrolet Silverado 2019 showed it had taken off much weight thanks to the use of aluminum and high-strength steel for the tailgate, hood, and doors to get rid of up to 204 kg from the earlier generation regardless of having a bigger appearance.
The V8 Silverado is due to go into production in the third quarter. The V6, turbo 4-cylinder, and more body types will be released in the fourth quarter. After all, the most expected details, i.e Chevrolet Silverado 2019 price, have not been available yet.
