All-new Kia Carnival bags several global awards

The fourth-generation minivan looks promising.

Although the all-new Kia Carnival has yet to prove its place in the local market as it is a relatively new model, the minivan has already been making its presence known globally. So much so that the Carnival bagged several global awards for its design, safety, and overall value.

The accolades start off with the top honor in the ‘Transportation’ category at the annual Good Design Awards for 2021. It recognized the Kia Carnival’s bold and elegant design which can be seen from the tiger-nose grille up front to the full-width LED taillights at the back. The Kia EV6 has also received the same prestigious award.

“Securing these Good Design awards is an endorsement of the approach we took with the styling of the Kia EV6 and Kia Carnival,” said Kia Design Center Head Karim Habib. “We are determined to ensure Kia keeps challenging the boundaries of automotive design.”

It is now in its fourth-gen form

Highlighting the Kia Carnival’s capability to protect occupants is the Top Safety Pick Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). To qualify for the award, models must earn high safety ratings in different criteria, which the minivan managed to ace, receiving acclaim for its crash avoidance and mitigation systems.

Here is the list of other global awards the all-new Kia Carnival secured:

  • 2022 Family Vehicle of the Year by AutoGuide
  • Best New Cars for 2022 by AutoTrader
  • Best Minivan by Newsweek Autos Awards

Locally, the Kia Carnival is available at a price that ranges from Php 2,540,000 to Php 2,988,000, excluding paint options. With the said global awards, Kia Philippines got a boost in showcasing the design and capabilities of its new fourth-generation minivan t Filipino car buyers.

“From the beginning, we have anchored ourselves on the brand’s reliability,” said Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada. “The recent acknowledgments just boosted our motivation to inspire the automotive market and up the game in terms of giving the market what they truly deserve.”

Kia Carnival

The 2023 Kia Carnival is a seven-seater minivan. It is now in its fourth generation, and it has two different variants for the Philippine market. 

These include the Carnival SX AT, and the Carnival EX AT. Its prices range from Php 2,640,000 to Php 3,088,000. 

Under the hood of the all-new Carnival is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel mill that can generate up to 200 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. Both variants are front-wheel-drive, and both use an eight-speed automatic gearbox. 

Size-wise, the new Carnival is 5,115mm long, 1,985mm wide, and 1,740mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 3,060mm. 

Locally, the 2023 Kia Carnival rivals the Honda Odyssey, Hyundai Grand Starex, and GAC GN8, among others.
