Honda has shown a preview of the refreshed Civic sedan in the United States. It gets very subtle design changes and a hybrid powertrain.

A majority of the visible style updates are seen on the front of the car. As per the pictures released by the brand, the upper and lower grille get a new mesh pattern with elongated hexagonal shapes. In comparison, the currently available Philippine-spec Civic has horizontal slats for its upper grille and larger hexagons on its lower grille.

The 2025 Civic’s lower intake covered by the lower grille also looks much larger and more open compared to the model sold locally. Its front bumper also has side vents and a more prominent-looking lip, both of which are absent on the Philippine-spec Civic.

From the sides, the only detail that vastly differentiates it from the locally available model is its new spoked alloy wheels. The rear end also didn’t see too many changes, but the brand didn’t show the lower sections of its rear bumper just yet. There is also no information or even pictures of its interior for now.

The variant of the refreshed Civic shown so far is the US-spec top-of-the-line Sport Touring Hybrid. Interestingly, it gets less sporty details compared to the Philippine-spec Civic RS, and it instead gets some chrome trims on its windows.

As mentioned above, the 2025 Civic for the US is getting a hybrid engine but the specs for this are yet to be shared by Honda. But if we had to guess, it might be the same 204-horsepower 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain currently in use by the US-spec Accord. Unless Honda confirms this though, take this with a healthy grain of salt.

As a side note, the brand already has a Civic Hybrid a.k.a the Civic e:HEV in  Japan, Europe, and Thailand. But Honda only decided to bring in the Civic Hybrid to the US after seeing the success of the CR-V Hybrid crossover in the same market in 2023. According to the brand, the CR-V Hybrid was the best-selling hybrid vehicle in the U.S. last year.
