Part of the update is the introduction of two new special models, namely the GT-R Premium edition T-spec and GT-R Nismo Special edition.

Design-wise, the new Nissan GT-R comes with a new grille design that looks reminiscent of the one on the previous R34 Skyline generation. For the GT-R Nismo, it sports the usual red accents around the vehicle, with the Special edition offering a clear-coated Nismo-exclusive carbon hood engine with NACA ducts.

In the performance department, the new GT-R is developed with improvements in aerodynamics and ride quality. The Japanese automaker reduced noise and vibration, and tuned the sound. With these changes, the sports car can provide passengers an enhanced onboard comfort.

The Nissan GT-R Premium edition T-spec is said to be created to drive with “robust grip.” It is equipped with specially set suspension and carbon disc brakes, improving the ride and handling.

Included in the special edition package are exclusive Recaro carbon bucket seats, high-precision weight-balance engine parts, mechanical limited-slip differential to the front final drive, and refinements on aerodynamics and suspension.

No changes were made to the power unit. This means that the vehicle is still powered by the same 3.8-liter VR38DETT V6 twin-turbo engine, with the Nismo version making more at 592 horsepower and 652 Nm of torque. It sends power to all four wheels (AWD) via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

“Fronted with a new grille design, cutting-edge technologies, and craftsmanship, the new models are the pinnacle of the GT-R R35,” said Nissan Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ashwani Gupta.

With the unveiling of another facelift version, the R35 GT-R is staying in the lineup amid discontinuation reports for the next-gen iteration. But considering Gupta’s remarks, this could well be the current generation’s final edition.
