2022 Petron Overland Expedition, Expo rescheduled

The 2022 Petron Overland Expedition and Expo, the first of its kind in the Philippines, will be commencing at a later date in light of the devastation caused by the recent Typhoon Karding. 

The upcoming 2022 Petron Overlanding Expedition will be starting a little later than scheduled

In a statement, the event’s organizers and sponsors led by Petron Corporation and Mototesto Overland Equipment announced that typhoon damage in the province of Quezon has led them to reschedule the twin events. From the original date of October 12 to 16, the Overland Expedition will be staged on October 18 to 23. 

Participants will kick off the competition with a flag-off at the LausGroup Event Center in San Fernando, Pampanga. What follows is four days of gruelling off-road challenges that will test both man and machine, after which the competitors will make their way back to Manila.

Meanwhile, the Overland Expo will also see a change in schedule. Initially slated to be held on October 14 to 16, the event will now be happening on October 21 to 23. Campers will assemble at the General Nakar Municipal Hall, eventually traveling to the campsite via convoy. There they will undergo three days and two nights of camping and off-grid adventures.

Campers joining the 2022 Overland Expo will also see a change in schedule 

With the new schedules, registration has likewise been extended until October 15. As for the original dates of October 7 to 9, these will be used to conduct emergency relief operations in General Nakar. 

To this end, the event organizers are calling for donations to be given to affected communities. Among the items requested are: 

• Rice (in 50-kilogram sacks)
• Canned goods
• Water
• Water container
• Water purification tablets 
• Sanitary napkins
• Instant noodles
• Steel nails 
• Corrugated galvanized iron (G.I.) sheets for roofing
