MIAS 2017: Mazda updates BT-50 pickup truck

Mazda Philippines showed off the refreshed BT-50 at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
Coming to the 2017 MIAS, apart from the launches of 2017 CX-9, CX-5, and MX-5 RF, Japanese automaker Mazda also displayed a new vehicle known as the updated BT-50 pickup truck.

Despite not sharing the KODO – Soul of Motion design code like all three above mentioned cars, the new BT-50 gets some exterior aesthetics.

Up front, the front grille is redesigned with chrome accent at the bottom. Besides, the headlamps and the bumper are also restyled.

New step boards are set up on the car’s side. In addition, at the rear, a new pair of taillights and a rear floating emblem are equipped. Also, the new pickup gets a set of newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels.

Meanwhile, the changes in the cabin are minor, including an armrest in the back seat along with a cubby hole in the center console. Moreover, the range-topping 3.2L gets the additional benefit of a back-up camera.

The price for face-lifted version of the BT-50 ranges at ₱ 1,350,000 for the 4x2 manual variant and ₱ 1,395,000 for the automatic variant. In addition, ₱ 1,550,000 is the price tag of the 3.2L 4WD variant.
