In recent years, Kia’s vehicles have risen drastically in performance, durability, reliability and built quality. This fact, of course, has been noticed by Filipinos and people all over the world as evidenced by the stellar rise of overall interest directed towards the Korean company’s vehicles.
Here in the Philippines, Kia is distributed by KIA Motors Philippines which is a subsidiary of the Columbian Autocar Corporation or CAC for short. They’ve been selling vehicles here in the country since 1994 and has provided Filipinos noteworthy vehicles such as the Carnival, the Rio, the Sorento, the Sportage, the Picanto, and the Soul.
Back in the ’90s, Kia was known for distributing the popular Kia Pride compact car. A vehicle which we still see running around, and even being sold in the 2nd-hand vehicle market today.
Nowadays, Kia cars, despite their rise in quality, are still perceived to be very affordable. In the used car market, Kia cars price tags actually remain affordable due to the large supply they have in the country.
Take for example the 2019 Kia Picanto, which if brought brand new could cost you about Php 635,000. If you bought a used 2017 Kia Picanto, it would instead only cost about Php 350,000 more or less. That’s almost a 50% price difference.
