It is unveiled by Opel that the latest Astra will join the auto market, however, for the time being, it gets a new name as the Buick Excelle in China.

Though there was only one photo published by the automaker, it is easy to recognize the 4-door sedan emulates a design from the Astra K wagon and hatchback body styles. However, the Buick Excelle 2018 will get a distinct rear end. Besides, the wheelbase of the new Opel Astra is a little shorter than the two models (2662 mm ~ 105 inches), measuring 2611 mm (~103 inches). Anyways, it’s still longer than the wheelbase of the previous-gen Buick Excelle by 11 mm (0.43 inches).

It seems that there’s no prospect for the Verano to be brought back by Buick when the auto brand has terminated the production of it in the latter of 2016. Therefore, buying the Buick Excelle 2018 should be more rational than waiting for its equivalent to return.
