Recently, BYD Philippines has launched its first plug-in hybrid - the BYD Tang 2018 which is a 7-seater and comes equipped with a series of standard features. Power comes from a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine combined with 2 electric motors, producing more than 493 hp.
The car boasts a sharp exterior with a curvy and glossy style. The Tang comes adorned with 20’’ aluminum alloy wheels, well-designed tail lamps and headlamps, earning it a distinctive look. Speaking of the overal dimension, the Tang measures 4815mm in length, 1855mm in width and 1720mm in height, along with a 2720mm wheelbase.

When the EV mode is on, the BYD Tang 2018 can run a maximum of 80 km, delivering zero vibrations, zero noise and zero emissions. Meanwhile, when the Hybrid Electric Sport mode is on, the Tang is capable of doling out 498 hp, whirs from 0-100 km/h within less than 5s. Besides, the car is also charged through a 220V socket working in a conjunction with a dual-clutch 6-speed gearbox.
It is worth noting that the Tang gets the Vehicle to Load (V2L) feature which let users use the battery of the Tang as an energy source when turning off the grid. The V2L is also used to provide power for devices like a mobile light source and a coffee maker.
Additionally, the BYD Tang 2018 also receives some essential features including automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree around-view system, leather covering and touchscreen infotainment plus navigation.
