This must-awaited body-on-frame SUV is finally available for sale in Malaysia.
After the public launch in Thailand a few months ago, the facelifted Isuzu MU-X has recently premiered in Malaysia. This time, the seven-seat SUV receives some minor updates to exterior and interior design as well as safety features. But, there is no change in hardware.

In Malaysia, the new MU-X will be offered in two variants: a 2.5L 4×2 AT and a 2.5L 4×4 AT and four color options: Havana Brown Mica, Cosmic Black Mica, Silky White Pearl, and Titanium Silver Metallic.

The noticeable changes on the exterior include a refreshed grille design, new front and rear bumper, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, revised fog lamp enclosures with more chrome along with new taillight clusters. Moreover, a more prominent spoiler mounted on the roof and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels make the SUV look sportier and more aggressive. Besides, the 4x4 model is equipped with a radio antenna in shark-fin type while the antenna of the 4x2 is in bee-sting type.

Interior-wise, the vehicle comes fitted with soft-touch plastics mixed with faux wood trim and is highlighted by an embossed three-spoke steering wheel, new instrument cluster and redesigned quilted pattern for beige leather seats. Infotainment system consists of an e-LUMAX multi-info display, in which a double-DIN 7-inch touchscreen monitor is standard in 4x2 model whereas a larger 8-inch unit, HDMI input, rear monitor and roof-mounted are exclusive to the 4x4 variant.

In terms of safety, alongside standard features such as ESC, ABS with EBD, traction control, break assist and airbags, the facelifted MU-X is now given hill descent control.
Prices for the new 2017 Isuzu MU-X kick off at RM176,640.40 (P2.08 million) for the 2.5L 4×2 AT model and RM183,000.40 (P2.15 million) for the 4×4 AT. The prices already include a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty but exclude insurance.
