MMDA releases traffic rerouting plan for Marcos Jr’s inauguration

Included is a list of all closed roads. 

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has recently released a list of alternate routes in connection to the road closures to allow for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.

Of note, it will take place at the National Museum in Metro Manila, on June 30, 2022. So, most of the roads that will be closed off are adjacent to the venue. Here’s the schedule of road closures for your convenience;

Gen. Luna St. (From P. Burgos to Muralla St.) 

June 26, 2022, 12:01 a.m. to June 30, 2022, 11:00 p.m. 

Ayala Blvd. 

June 30, 2022 from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

Victoria St. (From Taft to Muralla St.) 

June 30, 2022 from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

Mendiola St.  

June 29, 2022, 12:01 a.m. to June 30, 2022, 11: p.m. 

Jalandoni St., PICC, Pasay City 

June 30, 2022, 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

Legarda Street (From San Rafael to Figueras St.)

Here are the alternate routes for the said closures from the MMDA:  

1. Northbound motorists coming from Roxas Blvd. may turn right at U.N. Ave. Or Kalaw Ave. Then make a left to Taft Ave. to destination. 

2. Eastbound motorists coming from Roxas Blvd., may make a left to Kalaw Ave., or U.N. Ave., then make a right at Taft Ave. to destination. 

3. For trucks coming from the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), they can take Osmeña highway then turn left to Quirino Ave. Then make a right at Roxas Blvd, straight to Bonifacio Drive, to your destination. Of note, a section of Roxas Blvd. from Buendia to P. Burgos will be closed on June 30, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

4. Trucks coming from SLEX may also take the Osmeña Highway, make a right to Quirino Ave, straight to Nagtahan St. then to Lacson Ave., turn right at Yuseco straight to Capulong, then right to R-10 road to destination. 

5. Trucks coming from the south from Bonifacio Drive may go straight to Roxas Blvd. then make a left at Quirino Ave. After that, make a right at Osmeña Highway, straight to SLEX to your destination. Of note, a section of Roxas Blvd. from Buendia to P. Burgos will be closed on June 30, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

6. . Vehicles heading to Jalandoni Street may take Atang Dela Rama or Roxas Blvd. 

7. Vehicles coming from Sampaloc via Earnshaw St that are supposed to pass through Legarda St. may instead make a left at Manrique St.

8. Vehicles coming from Sta. Mesa via Legarda St., may instead pass through Mendiola St. before making a right at M.F. Jhocson, then left at Lardizabal to destination. 

9. Vehicles coming from P. Casa that will pass through Mendiola may make a left at Arlegui to destination. 

10. Vehicles coming from Quezon Blvd. as well as C.M. Recto Ave. that will pass through Mendiola may take a left at N. Reyes or right at S.H. Loyola to destination. 

Be aware that the MMDA is also deploying around 2,000 personnel to handle traffic on the aforementioned roads. So if you find that you can’t keep track of all these suggested alternate routes, then we can be sure that there will be folks on the field that can direct you.
