It aims to make your stops cozier.

A highway rest stop is one of the most sought-after destinations on a trip as it offers a wide range of services. This is why NLEX Corporation announced that it will expand the NLEX Drive and Dine located at the last stop before heading to Skyway Stage 3 or Mindanao Avenue Smart Connect.

Part of the expansion plan is the construction of five new buildings, and a multi-level parking. Some of the buildings still don’t have occupants so the company is looking for potential partners. This can be beneficial not only for NLEX motorists but also for brands who are looking to grow their networks.

“More than being the leading rest stop, NLEX Drive and Dine has become the go-to destination for comfort and convenience of NLEX motorists and the adjacent communities,” said MPT Mobility President and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) CEO, Rodrigo E. Franco.

The NLEX Drive and Dine has an average daily foot traffic count of over 23,000. It also posts an average daily vehicle count of over 7,000 on regular days and over 10,000 during seasons. With those numbers in mind, the stop can be deemed as an ideal site for brands to showcase their products.

USDS, a branded outlet store for shoes, clothes, and home improvements, has joined the roster and is looking to open next month. As of this writing, here is the list of brands and vacancies per building as per NLEX Corporation:

  • Building 1 – currently occupied by Nike, Levi’s, Oregon Premium Outlet Center, Casio, and A+ Premium Tech Dept.
  • Building 2 – vacant units on the ground floor and second floor (approximately 150 sqm. each)
  • Building 3 – four vacant units (each at 200 sqm. and with two floors)
  • Building 4 and 5 – 2-story structures with six 200 sqm. vacant units each

“This has led to an increase in visitors and demand for more food, shopping, and recreational options. So, we must grow and answer this need,” added Franco.
